United 0 Northampton 1

A good display by United was marred by a 90th minute Northampton goal. Cambridge had most of the chances in this end-to-end game with Jermaine Easter having four great chances on goal but not managing to score any. The U’s had eight shots on target and a few just off target. The match produced good performances by Easter, Bridges and a good return to form by Shane Tudor. The combination of Easter and Tudor running at the Northampton defence was football at its best, only a great display by the Cobblers keeper denied Cambridge the points.

League Table

Cambridge are now fourth from bottom of the division, but three points would take us up to mid table. Macclesfield are the team to watch, they are second from bottom and six points behind Cambridge.

Dan Gleeson Debut

Dan Gleeson started his first full game on Saturday. Dan has just turned nineteen and put in an excellent performance at right back, he must now threaten Haverhill’s Stev Angus who has struggled to produce his best performances recently.

Next At The Abbey

United are away to Darlington on Saturday but return to The Abbey on Tuesday night against Boston United. Boston are just one point ahead of United and must be one of the teams we pick up points against. Kick off is at 7.45pm.
