Admission Prices Held
The club have announced they are freezing admission prices for next season. The conference will be increasing to 24 clubs so season tickets will increase slightly to cover the costs of the extra games. Application forms for season tickets should be available at the Good Friday game. Last year 1300 people bought season tickets which is more than the attendance figures for most Conference clubs.
Clear Out Starts
United have let go Atkins, Medine, Daniels and Robbins and will not be renewing the contract for Max Porter, as manager Rob Newman prepares for next season. All had put in good performances but are not the type of player Rob is looking for to take the team out of The Conference. Rob will need to replace many of these players over the close season, early purchase of season tickets will encourage the board to provide a better playing budget for Rob.
Next At The Abbey
The team are away at Aldershot this Saturday, they will return to The Abbey on Friday week (14th) where they will play former league team York City. There will then be just one home match left this season.

Crawley Town 1 United 0
United’s unbeaten run of four games came to an end at Crawley on Saturday. This game looked to be an opportunity for The U’s to pick up a rare away win, as Crawley have been struggling just outside the relegation places. A poor first half performance by Cambridge was followed by an even worse second half, which included the sending off of midfielder Rob Wolleaston. Although the team is safe from relegation and too far away from the play-off positions, many of the players need to fight for their places in next season’s squad. Some of recent erratic performances by the team must be giving manager Rob Newman some food for thought.
Abbey Aid
Don’t forget to get your tickets for the Abbey Aid concerts on 26th and 27th May at The Abbey Stadium. Featuring X Factor finalists, a Queen tribute band, Lee Ryan and Liberty X. The success of the concerts will play a big part in moving the club to a break-even stage and allowing the board of directors to give Rob Newman an improved budget for next season to help the club to mount a promotion challenge. Tickets are available from the ticket office 01223 566500 from 9am to 5pm, and online 24 hours a day from the club shop website at www.abbeyshop.co.uk.

Tamworth 1 United 1
U’s manager Rob Newman praised a resolute performance by the team as they gained an away point at struggling Tamworth. An early Craig Westcarr goal put United ahead but Tamworth soon replied and United had to put in a long periods of strong defending to take the point. United are now in twelfth place with 41 points. The play offs and the relegation battles are both losing interest for our supporters but, after recent seasons, a period of mid-table obscurity seems quite nice.
Liberty X at The Abbey
The club has announced the latest line up for the Abbey Aid concerts. Liberty X will be performing on Saturday 27th May, the same night as Lee Ryan formerly of Blue. Tickets will cost £25. The Friday night line up will be announced next week.
Next At The Abbey
It seems a long while since the last Saturday match at The Abbey, but this Saturday United are at home to second in the table Halifax Town. This will be a chance to see one of the better footballing sides in the division and a chance to measure the team’s recent progress.

Pleased as Punch
Manager Rob Newman said he was “Pleased as punch” with The U’s away win at Woking. He added "I think we controlled the game well, we created quite a few chances today but most of all I think it was a more solid all-round team performance.” This is only United’s second away win of the season and helps keep the club a good distance from the relegation spaces. Rob Newman needs to work out why we have won nine games at home but only two away.
Abbey Aid
A weekend of music is planned for The Abbey in the close season. Two concerts will be held on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th May. The income from the concerts is vital to keep the club going during the summer months and may help to boost the playing budget if they are very successful. The club are keen to hear from anyone who might be able to help in any way.
Next At The Abbey
On Saturday the team are away at Tamworth, they return to The Abbey the following Saturday to play second in the table Halifax Town.
